Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to the 100 block of Commerce Avenue at Wheels for Dollars Car Dealership in regard to a suspicious subject in the area.

According to LPD Det. Milton Ligon, upon arrival officers made contact with 38-year-old Frank Baczo, who was attempting to make entry in multiple vehicles.

“He was taking a chance on each vehicle, seeing if they were unlocked in the car lot,” Ligon said. “He was hoping there was money in the vehicles.”

LPD said in a press release that Baczo had made entry into a 2007 Jeep Compass and removed a car manual, without authority or consent of the owner with the intent of depriving the owner of said property. Baczo was arrested on the scene and transported to the Troup County jail.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the LaGrange Police Department at (706) 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
