Woman injured after striking tree with car on I-185 Southbound

A woman was injured when the vehicle she was driving struck a tree Sunday morning on the Interstate 185 Southbound entrance ramp.

The one-vehicle accident happened at approximately 6:42 a.m. after the driver of a 2016 Ford Mustang exited Interstate 85 and entered the on-ramp to I-185. The vehicle traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree on the driver side, according to a report from Georgia State Patrol.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and was extradited by emergency personnel, according to law enforcement.

She was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center for treatment and was later airlifted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
