The City of LaGrange is holding its next monthly litter cleanup event this Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. along the first segment of The Thread behind St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at 207 North Greenwood Street.

According to a press release from the city, city employees and community volunteers will be picking up litter along the first segment of The Thread as well as along North Greenwood Street. The city is partnering with St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for this event.

This is a family-friendly event and free and open to the public. The city will provide the vests, trash bags and gloves. Roughly a hundred volunteers participated in the November litter cleanup.

According to the press release, City Manager Meg Kelsey began this litter cleanup campaign in April 2018 hoping to send a message to the community that the City of LaGrange is serious about cleaning up our community.

If you are a business or group that would like to partner with the City of LaGrange on any of these events is asked to  contact Katie Mercer Van Schoor at kvanschoor@lagrangega.org.
