Bellevue was filled with children, pancakes, crafts and Christmas wishes on Saturday morning when the LaGrange Woman’s Club hosted its annual Breakfast with Santa.
The event was designed by the club to introduce children to the home, while raising funds for its maintenance. Kathleen Ernest, who organized the event, said that everyone was having a great time, and she enjoyed seeing children visit Bellevue for the first time.
“It is wonderful because they are fascinated by the house,” Ernest said. “They’re fascinated and asking questions like does Santa live here? They’re really enjoying the house.”
As children decorated ornaments in the second-floor hallway and listened to stories in the 164-year-old bedroom, Santa made note of wishes for L.O.L. Surprise Dolls, skates and building toys.
Sage Brown, 3, said that seeing Santa was the best part of her morning. Meanwhile, her brother Curtis Brown III, 5, said that he loved making a Christmas ornament for his family’s tree.
The LaGrange Woman’s Club will also host a Christmas Tea at Bellevue on Sunday at 2 p.m. For more information, call (706) 884-1832.
