The City of Hogansville has chosen an interim city manager. 

Hogansville City Clerk Lisa E. Kelly was voted in as interim city manager by the Hogansville City Council this past Monday. This move was made after previous city manager David Milliron submitted his resignation to the council in December. He was expected to be sworn in as city manager on Monday in Danville, Kentucky. 

According to a news release from the city, Mayor Bill Stankiewicz and Milliron both recommended Lisa to serve in that capacity while continuing her city clerk duties. She has served Hogansville for more than 15 years and is a Georgia Certified Municipal Clerk.  

“Lisa has shepherd Hogansville through the transition of five city managers during her tenure with the city and is more than qualified to do the job,” Stankiewicz said. “She is well respected in the community and has extensive management experience in the private and public sectors.” 

The city council will soon meet to decide how it wants to proceed with replacing Milliron, who has managed the day-to-day operations of the city since September 2017. According to the press release, Kelly has stated she has no interest in seeking the permanent position and agreed to step into the chief administrative role to make sure the foundation built by Milliron in support of the council continues.

“Hogansville is my hometown and I love this community,” Kelly said. “I have worked alongside David since his arrival and have great respect for what Team Hogansville has accomplished thanks in great part to his vision, leadership and cohesiveness with the City Council and other stakeholders. So, it is important to me personally to ensure that momentum continues and to provide the needed continuity while the governing body recruits its next city manager.”
