Mrs. Patricia Elaine Murphy Smith, 73, of Pine Mountain, passed away on Jan. 12, 2020, at the WellStar Atlanta Medical Center. 

Mrs. Smith was born on Dec. 24, 1946, in LaGrange to the late Obie Murphy and Daisy Brooks Crowell. She worked for many years at Woodbury Business Forms before it closed. She retired from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Putman. Survivors include her husband, Darnell Edward Smith; children, Krista Bowen and her husband Kelly, Donald Wright and Christina Roberts and her husband Kyle; grandchildren, Kenzie Bowen, Kennedy Bowen, Logan Wright, Robert Bergeson, Brooke Richards, Ryan Wright and Lane Wright; great grandchildren, Iris Roberts, Alice Arena and Eleanor Arena; extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at 1 p.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Adam Camp officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Congregational Christian Church. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
