The first night is in the books.

A basketball league featuring elementary-school teams kicked off on Wednesday with three games, with hundreds of spectators watching the action at Whitesville Road Elementary School.

League games will be played every Wednesday through Feb. 12, and tournament games will take place on Feb. 19.

The championship game will be on Feb. 22.

All of the games will be at Whitesville Road Elementary School, and there will be three games each night.

Teams from Hogansville Elementary, Ethel Kight, Berta Weathersbee, Hollis Hand and Long Cane are participating.
