Visit LaGrange, Inc. has announced Kathy Tilley as its president and CEO, according to a press release from the city of LaGrange.
Tilley currently serves as the interim president of the LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce and is also the executive director for the Troup County Center for Strategic Planning.
“I am delighted to be able to promote LaGrange and all of our amenities to those outside our community. LaGrange has so much to offer as a complete destination, and I’m excited about the possibilities this new organization brings,” Tilley said in the press release.
Tilley has worked in hospitality, tourism and marketing for the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, Callaway Gardens and the Ida Cason Callaway Foundation for almost 20 years.
“I am very excited about Kathy joining the Visit LaGrange organization,” said Visit LaGrange Board Chairman Bobby Carmichael in a press release. “She has the experience, local knowledge and respect of all in our community to have a significant impact on tourism. We are in good hands with Kathy as our CEO.”
In her role as Visit LaGrange President/CEO, Tilley will help develop, coordinate, direct and implement a comprehensive strategy for marketing LaGrange as a tourism destination.
Tilley is expected to serve as the chamber’s interim president for the next few months.
“She is still interim president [of the chamber] and will be until approximately the end of March,” said Dale Jackson, chairman of the chamber’s transition committee.
Tilley is slated to begin her new role April 6, 2020.
