A man has been arrested for murder after allegedly shooting one person and killing another Friday night in the area of Union Street and Ware Street.
Andreco Darnell Parham was charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, according to a LaGrange Police Department press release.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Union Street and Ware Street around 10 p.m. Friday night in reference to persons who had been shot. Officers located two victims, Ronald Turner and Patricia Underwood. Underwood was deceased at the scene.
Turner was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center for further treatment after being shot in the shoulder.
According to the press release, the initial investigation revealed that a dispute between several parties led Parham to obtain a gun and shoot at Turner. Turner was shot while standing outside of his vehicle in the roadway.
One of the rounds Parham fired entered a business at 200 ½ Union Street and struck Underwood, according to the LPD.
Parham fled from the scene but was later apprehended.
