The season came to a close for the Callaway Lady Cavaliers in the opening round of the Class AA state tournament.

Callaway, the number four seed from Region 5-AA, lost to Region 8-AA champion Rockmart 80-58 on Friday night.

Gabrielle Johnson finished her big sophomore season by scoring 26 points.

Johnson did a lot of her damage in the first half when she scored 20 points and made all four of her 3-pointers.

Also for Callaway, Camryn Stargell scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Javonna Bradford added 12 points.

It was the final game for Troup’s seniors, Javonna Bradford and Markiya Harris.

Every other player will return  next season.
