The finish line is in sight for the City-Wide Elementary Basketball League.
The league’s playoffs began on Wednesday with a pair of games, and the season will conclude on Saturday with the semifinal and championship games at Whitesville Road Elementary School.
On Wednesday, there were two playoff games, with the winners advancing to the semifinals on Saturday.
In Wednesday’s first game, Hollis Hand Elementary School topped Hogansville Elementary School 24-15 to advance.
In Wednesday’s final game, Ethel Kight eased past Long Cane 41-19 to keep its title hopes alive.
There will be semifinal games on Saturday at 11 a.m. and noon, with the championship game set for 2:15 p.m.
There will also be a cheerleader competition on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The season began on Jan. 15, and each team played five regular-season games, leading up to the tournament.
Here’s the schedule for Saturday:
11 a.m. – Berta Weathersbee vs. Ethel Kight
Noon – Hollis Hand vs. Cavs
1 p.m. – Cheerleading competition
2:30 p.m. – Championship game
