It’s race day.

The Diverse Power Grand Prize is back for its second season, with middle-school and high-school Greenpower racing teams ready to attack the course at LaGrange College.

After a safety meeting at 8 a.m., the racing begins at 8:30 a.m. with the high-school teams taking the track, and there’ll be a middle-school pit-crew challenge at the same time.

At 10:30 a.m., the middle-school teams will hit the course for their first semifinals race.

At 12:30 p.m., the second middle-school semifinal race will be held, and the second high-school race starts at 2:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m., the top 16 middle-school teams from the semifinal heats will compete for the championship.

An awards ceremony will be held at 6:15 p.m.

Last year, the Cougar Strong racing team representing Long Cane Middle School captured the top two spots in the F24 intermediate modified division.

Gardner Newman Middle School placed second in the F24 intermediate kit division.
