Mr. Billy Holland Templeton, 82, of Hogansville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020.

Mr. Templeton was born May 3, 1937, in Dallas, North Carolina, son of the late William Edward Templeton and Marie Walker Templeton. Mr. Templeton proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Fluor-Daniel Construction Company before retiring.

Mr. Templeton was a member of Beersheba Presbyterian Church, York, South Carolina, life member of the National Rifle Association and life member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. 

He was an avid motorcyclist and one of his hobbies was wood working. Mr. Templeton also had a passion for history and enjoyed teaching his grandchildren about various historical events.

 Survivors include his wife, Melba Hyatt Templeton; son, Rick (Leigh Ann) Templeton; grandchildren, Anna Caroline Templeton, Richard Holland Templeton II, Jackson Lane Templeton, Brandon Alexander Witcher, and Brittany Alexis Witcher; and three children from a previous marriage, Diane McCarter, Martha Stewart, and Billy Templeton.

The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 11 a.m.. to 1 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange. Graveside funeral services will follow at 2  p.m. at Centralhatchee Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin, Georgia, with Reverend Wayne Hester officiating.
