Mr. Joseph “Joe” Neil Wood, 44, of Lanett, formerly of LaGrange and Manchester, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at his residence.

Joe was born on May 30, 1975, in Opelika, Alabama.

He was a member of the 1994 graduating class of Troup County High School.

He loved the outdoors and could be found kayaking, hiking or enjoying a bonfire with his friends and family.

Joe was a very social man who was very generous and giving to anyone who needed a little generosity in their lives.

He worked at Mountville Mills in LaGrange.

Joe is survived by his parents, Harold and Cynthia Wood, LaGrange, brother, James Wood, Roanoke.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 3 p.m. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley, Alabama. The Rev. Sam Wood will officiate the service. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. EDT until the service hour.
