Big inning powers Cougars

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars used a six-run sixth inning to surge past Konos Academy 10-5 on Thursday at the George F. Harris Baseball Complex.
The game was tied when the sixth inning began, and by the time the at-bat was over the Cougars had a one-run lead.
Nathan Karvelas had an RBI single to give the Cougars the lead in the sixth inning, and they continued to pour it on.
Braden Firth had two hits and three RBIs for the Cougars, and Karvelas had two hits with an RBI.
Tanner Jackson had a double, and Jacob Karvelas, Adam Barnett, Landon Bush and Cameron Elliott each had a hit.
Nathan Karvelas started and pitched four innings, and he gave up three hits and one earned run.
Jackson pitched two lock-down innings, holding Konos Academy to no runs and one hit while striking out six.
Cason Firth pitched the seventh inning to finish it, and he allowed one run on one hit.
