Callaway wins at Spencer

The Callaway High soccer teams, in their final games before what will be at least a two-week break from competition, went on the road and beat Spencer on Wednesday.
In the boys’ game, Callaway outscored Spencer 3-0 in the second half on the way to a 5-2 victory.
Joe Neese had two goals for Callaway, and Nelson Herrera, Elbin Jacob and Nick Smith each had one goal.
The game was tied 2-2 at the half, and Callaway dominated the second half to win going away.
The Cavaliers (5-5 overall) evened their Region 5-AA record at 2-2 after dropping their first two region games.
In Wednesday’s girls’ game, Callaway beat Spencer 4-1 for its third consecutive win.
Keeley McGuffin had a hat trick for Callaway with three goals, and Mya Lawton had one goal.
The Lady Cavaliers (6-4 overall) have outscored its opponents 21-2 during a three-game winning streak, and they evened their region record at 2-2.
At least until March 30, Callaway won’t be able to play any games, or hold organized practices.
