TCSO seizes meth after traffic stop

A 40-year-old man was arrested for the possession of 10 ounces of methamphetamine Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the Troup County Sheriff’s office. 

Lt. Nathan Taylor stopped a Michael Williams’ vehicle on Greenville Road at Callaway Church Road for following another vehicle too closely and a possible window tint violation. 

According to news release from TCSO, after Taylor stopped the vehicle and made contact with the Williams he observed him to be very nervous and behavior consistent with criminal activity.

TCSO said that due to the suspicious indicators,  Taylor deployed his narcotics detection dog and he indicated to the odor of possible narcotics emanating from the vehicle. 

A subsequent search revealed that Williams was in possession of the methamphetamine.  

Williams was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine and reducing Light transmission through windows.
