Troup County’s COVID-19 death total rises to eight

Two more people in Troup County have died from COVID-19, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.
The newest deaths are in an 81-year-old male without a chronic health condition and a 58-year-old female with a chronic health condition. Troup County has 227 confirmed cases, according to GDPH.
Eight people have died in Troup County. Seven of the deaths are females, ages 37, 57, 58, 61, 66, 71 and 82. The 58, 61, 66, 71 and 82-year-old females had a chronic health condition, according to GDPH.
Since May 1, Troup County has seen its number of cases increase from 169 to 227, an increase of 58. GDPH also warns that some confirmed cases over the last 14 days may not be accounted for yet.
There have been 62 hospitalizations in Troup County.
