LaGrange police arrest 35-year-old man for striking someone with a metal pipe

On Sunday afternoon, the LaGrange Police Department arrested 35-year-old Joseph Williams for allegedly striking someone with a metal pipe.
According to a press release from the LPD, officers responded to the 400 block of Miller Street where they met with the victim. The victim told police he was visiting a friend at 505 Alford Street when he was approached by Joseph Williams. The victim said Williams hit him in the back of the head with the pipe during a verbal altercation.
The LPD Criminal Investigations Section responded and initiated an investigation. After obtaining video evidence to support the allegation, Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, where he was booked on one count of aggravated assault. The LPD said that the victim refused medical attention.
