Mr. John Quentin McCord, “Toby” passed away Thursday.
He was born June 26, 1978, to a loving parent, Gail Harris McCord in LaGrange.
Toby graduated from LaGrange High School, Class of 1996; and went on to the University of Kentucky before being drafted into the NFL.
While in the NFL he played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Oakland Raiders. In addition, he played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Edmonton Eskimos.
Survivors include his children, Kennedy McCord, Elijah “EJ” McCord, and Jordan McCord; mother, Gail McCord; bonus father, Lonnie Easter; siblings: Tronsa (Donald) Taylor, Tasheika (Mario) Shephard, Shannon (Brandon) Jarrell, Roderick McCord (Jamie), Jeremy (Miranda) McCord, and Tanisha Perkins (Tyikeey); nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, special cousins and friends.
The service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Southview Cemetery.
The visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home, 201 Hamilton Street, LaGrange. The excellent care of Mr. McCord is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
