Private family graveside services for Richard Henry Vollenweider, 85, of Roanoke, will be held at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

Mr. Vollenweider died Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, at Lineville Health and Rehab.

Survivors include two sons, David Vollenweider (Vickie) of Roanoke and Steven Vollenweider (Tina) of Marietta, Georgia.; two grandchildren, Andrew Vollenweider (Kasey) of Roanoke and Kathryn Vollenweider of Roanoke.

A La Crescent, Minnesota native, Mr. Vollenweider was born Dec. 27, 1934, the son of Milton Leroy and Margaretta Brooks Vollenweider. He was a Vietnam War veteran and had worked as an anesthetist.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Susan Vollenweider.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Compassus Hospice, 4455 US Hwy 431, Roanoke, Alabama, 36274.
