Mrs. Annie Ruth Thornton Wilkes passed away Friday.

She was born June 10, 1939, to the late Aaron Thornton and LuGennie Robinson Thornton in Franklin, Georgia

She graduated from Mary Johnson High School on May 16, 1958.

Annie joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church; and attended Shiloh Baptist Church.

She worked at Lowell, Flat Rock, and Bremen-Bowdon Investments as a seamstress.

Survivors include one child, Shedrant (Valarie) Wilkes; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters:  Antris Andrew, Mary Thornton, and Ida Bohannon; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Thornton; one brother-in-law, Ivy Foster, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from noon until 1 p.m. at Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home, 100 Corporate Plaza Drive. The service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church.

The excellent care of Ms. Wilkes is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
