Nell Gore Pollard, 80, passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2020.
She was born on Oct. 23, 1939, in Franklin, Georgia, to the late Noah and Eucal Gore of LaGrange.
Nell, known as Gammy by her grandchildren, was a short and very sassy lady. She could have an entire room laughing until tears ran down their faces.
Don’t let that fool you though, she was a strong woman, very loyal to her family, and crossing her was ill-advised.
She is survived by her children: Kim Ayers and Henry “Pete” Pollard Jr.; her granddaughters: Alexandra Pollard, Amanda Ayers, LeAnne Adams, Whitney Pollard, Shelby Pollard; her great grandsons: Seth and Christian Malone; niece: Stephanie Urso; many grandnieces and nephews; and her two cats: Bubbles, 20, and Spunky, 10.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Henry B. Pollard Sr.; daughter: Karen Bishop; sisters: Bobbie Dettmar, Jean Gore and Verna “Bebe” Taylor; nephew Richard “Ricky” Dettmar; and her granddaughter Samantha Malone.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the Shadowlawn Cemetery, in LaGrange.
Family and friends will assemble at the graveside. While flowers are appreciated, please consider donating to West Georgia Hospice on behalf of Nell.
The staff was very caring of both Nell and her family members and created a wonderful environment for all even in such sad circumstances.
