Mrs. Velvie Thomas Foulks, of LaGrange, passed away on Sept. 4, 2020. Mrs. Foulks was born on Sept. 28, 1942, in LaGrange to the late M.S. Brown, Jr. and Ethel Whitley Brown. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Thomas, Sr. and her second husband, Larry Foulks; son, William Eugene “Gene” Thomas, Jr.; brothers, M.S. Brown and his wife Virginia, Danny Brown and David Brown; brother in law, Billy Pope. Mrs. Foulks had been a Real Estate Agent for Daniel Realty.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Gouchenour; sister, Joyce Pope; sisters in law, Lorraine Brown and Polly Brown; grandchildren, Shannon Prophett (Aaron), Amanda Gouchenour, Laci Phillips (Scooter) and Blade Thomas; great grandchildren, Micah Prophett, Lucah Prophett, Athena Greer, Tristin Greer, Frankie Phillips, Brayden Phillips, Kallie Thomas and Kason Thomas; nieces, nephews, cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand, 506 Hill Street, LaGrange from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020. The funeral will directly follow the visiting hour and will be held at the funeral home. Pastor Josh Rhye, Pastor Randy Rhye and Pastor Max McCord will officiate the service.  Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
