The Callaway softball team made easy work of visiting Shaw on Tuesday on the way to a 13-1 victory.

Mya Lawton was exceptional on the pitcher’s mound for Callaway, throwing the four-inning complete game while giving up one hit and one run, and she retired the final 10 batters she faced.

Callaway tied it with a run in the bottom of the first inning, and it took the lead with four runs in the bottom of the second.

After scoring five more runs in the third inning, Callaway plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth to end the game because of the run rule.

Chaple Butler did her job perfectly from the leadoff position with three walks and a double, and she scored four runs and had three RBIs.

McKenzie Rhodes and Lindsay Cofield each had two hits and two RBIs, and Alora Vetsavong had two hits, including a double, with an RBI.

Ava Shuford had a double, a walk and was hit by a pitch while driving in two runs, and Mya Lawton walked twice and was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in a run.

Tyterria Godwin had a double, two walks, and scored three runs while driving in one, Constance Hall had a hit, a walk and a sacrifice bunt, and Chelsey Courson had a hit.
