Facing a familiar foe, the LaGrange High softball team went on the road and beat Central-Carroll 6-0 on Monday.
The teams were in the same region for the past four years, and they’d played once earlier this year.
Central-Carroll has come out on top in most of those previous meetings, but LaGrange got the upper-hand in the latest showdown.
Camden Smith, LaGrange’s outstanding senior pitcher, threw a complete-game five hitter, and she struck out four batters and only walked one.
Madison Dennis led the offensive effort with two hits and two RBIs, and she had a two-run home run in the second inning to get the scoring started.
Abby Vanhoose had one hit and two RBIs, Kirsten Williams had two hits, Smith had an RBI, and Jacee Marable, Holly Lynn and Kaylee Bryant each had a hit.
On Saturday, LaGrange played two games in Carrollton, and it lost to East Paulding 5-3 before beating Northwest Whitfield 6-1.
In the Northwest game, Smith threw a five-inning no-hitter, and she had eight strikeouts.
Dennis, two days before hitting one out against Central-Carroll, had a solo home run against Northwest, and she had two hits.
Leadoff hitter Malone Aldridge had three hits with a double while scoring two runs, Lynn had two hits with a double and an RBI, Marable had a hit and an RBI, and Williams had a hit.
In the East Paulding game, Aldridge had two hits, Williams and Smith each had a hit and an RBI, Kate Asbell had an RBI, and Marable, Dennis and Kaylee Bryant each had a hit.
