Claud Bell
1925-2020
Claud Bell, 95, of LaGrange, passed away on Oct. 2, 2020. He was born on August 13, 1925, to the late Herman Bell and Erma Montgomery Bell in Heard County, Georgia.
He proudly serviced in the United States Army in World War II and later retired from Ford Motor Company in Hapeville. He is a member of Unity Baptist Church in LaGrange where until recently he was an active Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He loved his Lord and Savior and witnessed to everyone with whom he came in contact. He was such a loving and gentle man of God. He loved to travel and traveled all over the world. He visited all but two of the states. He visited all of Europe and Asia. He was affectionately call Paw Paw by young and old. He influenced so many people. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Annice Hannah Bell; sons, infant twins that passed at birth and Bruce Bell; sister, Mildred Orr; grandchildren, Valerie Fryer McDaniel, Laura Bell; son in law, Max New.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Smith Bell; daughter, Marcelene New; grandchildren, Luther Fryer, Jr., Joshua Bell, and Katie Bell; great grandchildren, Walker Fryer, Kylie Fryer; Rowan Bell; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Family will have visitation from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020 at the Unity Baptist Church. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church with Rev. Doug Bingham officiating. COVID precautions will be followed, mask and social distancing is required. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
