1937-2020

Okyun Kim Copeland, 82, a LaGrange resident for over 15 years, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020 at Pruitt Health of Greenville, Georgia.

 “Mrs. Kim” as she was affectionately known, was born Oct. 15, 1937, in Pusan, South Korea. After being married in South Korea, she came to the United States in 1962 and became a citizen. She was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square and owned several restaurants and barber shops. In addition to family members in Korea, she is preceded in death by her late husband, Lawrence Keith Copeland.

 Mrs. Kim is survived by her first husband, SGM Luis G. Cavazos; daughter, Sylvia Cavazos; sons, Fernando Cavazos, Ricardo Cavazos and Rolando Cavazos; granddaughter, Brittney Dee Cavazos; other relatives and friends.

 The celebration of life service will be held 11am on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020  at First Baptist Church on the Square with Pastor Cade Farris officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
