LaGrange Academy runners shine at region meet

LaGrange Academy’s cross-country runners are state-bound
The region meet was held last week, and LaGrange Academy’s runners fared well to earn an invitation to the state meet in Macon.
LaGrange Academy’s boys’ team finished second in the GISA Region 1-AA meet.
Three members of the LaGrange Academy girls’ team, meanwhile, placed 10th or higher to make it to state.
In the boys’ race, the Warriors were led by three runners who earned top-10 finishes.
Jay Stewart led the way for LaGrange Academy with a third-place finish with a time of 18 minutes, 42 seconds.
Inness Silcox (20:12) added a sixth-place finish, and Jonathan Pierson (21:25) was 10th.
Also for the Warriors, Zach Tures (21:26) was 11th, SIlas Liechty (22:20) was 12th, Parker Land (23:16) placed 13th, and Sam Anderson (24:05) finished 14th.
In the girls’ race, Anna Beth Kinnersley made a run at the individual title before finishing second with a time of 21:40.
Chloe Harrell (26:26) finished seventh, and Ryleigh McClanahan (26:28) was eighth.
Ellie Grace Eiler added a 13th-place finish for LaGrange Academy.
