Camden Smith, coming off a brilliant senior season for the LaGrange High softball team, has been selected as a Georgia Dugout Club all-state player.

Smith will be one of the dozens of players from across the state participating in Georgia Dugout Club all-state game on Saturday in Buford.

There are four all-state teams, and they’ll each play two games.

Smith’s team will play a game at 11:45 a.m. and another game at 4:45 p.m., and there will be a skills competition and an awards presentation at 1:30 p.m.

Smith was a four-year starter at LaGrange, and she was the team’s number one pitcher for each of those seasons.

Smith capped her career with an exceptional season that ended with an appearance in the Class AAAA final four in Columbus.

LaGrange beat Cairo and Cedartown in the state playoffs, and Smith was the winning pitcher in all four of the games.

For the season, Smith was 20-11 with a 1.72 earned run average, and she had 133 strikeouts.

Smith has committed to play softball at the University of West Georgia.
