LaGrange man injured, in critical condition after shooting

A man was shot and injured early Sunday morning on Mc Gregor Street in LaGrange, according to a press release from the LaGrange Police Department.

LPD officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Mc Gregor Street around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday in reference to a shooting. Officers found a victim, a 26-year-old man from LaGrange, who had been shot once and was lying on the ground. According to the release, the victim was also accompanied by another victim, a 24-year-old man from LaGrange, who was uninjured.

“It was determined that three unknown suspects emerged from a wooded area and opened fire,” on the two men, the release said.

The man who was shot was treated at the scene and flown to Columbus Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical condition. LPD Sgt. Mark Cavendar said that as of Monday morning, the victim was still in critical and serious condition.

Cavendar said LPD was following up on several investigative leads, but did not have any suspects or a known motive.
