Yvonne Maria Wallace Griffin passed away Nov. 11, 2020 in Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born March 19, 1949 in Troup County, Georgia to the late Willie Frank and Dorothy Tigue Wallace.

She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and joined Saint James CME Church at an early age.  Yvonne graduated Class Valedictorian of East Depot High School in 1967, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Knoxville College and a Master’s Degree from the University of Illinois; completing both degrees with Honors distinctions and proudly representing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Griffin, Sr.; daughter, Keri (Chris) Griffin-Sylvus, Boston, Massachusetts; and son, Carl (Amber) Griffin, II, Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren; one local sister, Etrulia Wallace, LaGrange; and a host of other siblings, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The service was held on Nov. 19, 2020 at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery. The excellent care of Mrs. Griffin was provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
