EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated to reflect the LDN’s new expected opening date for the new office.

The LaGrange Daily News (LDN) office is moving to a new location and into the heart of downtown LaGrange.

Monday, December 21, will likely be The LDN’s first day to operate from there. That will be confirmed or changed as we ready the site.  The move is into Suite 101 in the Coca Cola Building, located at 115 Broad Street. LDN is one of many others in  the building. They are Signature Homes By DeForest Winslow, Splash Kitchens & Baths, Resilient Floor Covering Institute, Kelsey Advertising and Design and Troup County Board of Realtors, according to a listing in the building.

“We are pleased to be moving our office even further into the heart of downtown LaGrange,” said President and Publisher Daniel Evans. “It will be easier for those we serve to find us, and we hope they will come take a look once our move is finished.”

For now, the LDN remains open at its current location of 105 Ashton Street from Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The LDN’s office hours will remain the same once moved into the new location.

“We are simply moving from one building to another, so this will not impact delivery of the newspaper in any way,” Evans said.

Evans said the change in location comes at the end of The LDN’s lease on the existing building, the desire to get close to the downtown area. Printing is now done in an affiliated central printing plant elsewhere. The new location better fits our staffing, gives us room to grow.

Evans said The LDN’s commitment to the community remains strong.

”We thank our readers for continuing to support Troup County’s oldest and most recognizable daily newspaper.”
