Cougars fall short at home

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars were unable to keep pace with an unbeaten Konos Academy team during a region game on Tuesday night.

It was tied after the first quarter, but Konos Academy was in control the rest of the way on the way to a 63-46 victory.

Conner Gisler was on fire early, making two 3-pointers and scoring 10 points in the first quarter as the teams fought to a 14-14 tie.

Gisler scored five more points in the second quarter, but Lafayette Christian only scored two other points in the quarter as Konos Academy built a 28-21 lead at the half.

Konos Academy was ahead 45-33 after three quarters, and it continued to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Gisler led the Cougars with 22 points, with 15 of those points coming in the first half.

Grant Gedney made three 3-pointers in the second half and finished with nine points, and AJ Parks scored eight points.

Logan Allen led Konos Academy with 21 points, and Micah Knapp had 13 points.

Lafayette Christian (6-2) is off until Jan. 4 when it visits Griffin Christian.
