The LaGrange Police Department is continuing to investigate the fatal shooting that occurred Friday night on Adamson Street. On Monday afternoon, LPD Sgt. Mark Cavender said the second victim in the shooting is now in stable condition.

The shooting resulted in the death of Monquarious Wilder, 20, of LaGrange, who was dead at the scene. Officers had been dispatched around 9:20 p.m. to 1708 Adamson Street in reference to a shooting.

Police were called to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in reference to the second victim, who they later learned had been shot in the same incident. The second victim was flown to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Cavender said. He was admitted in critical condition.

Police have not yet spoken with the second victim, who is 26 years old. The victim, Cavendar said, underwent surgery for his gunshot wound.

Cavender said the shooting occurred outside in the driveway or road area at the address. Police believe Wilder and the second victim were friends or acquaintances. LPD is currently working leads but does not have any suspects, nor have they identified a motive, Cavender said.
