The City of LaGrange will be closed for business Thursday (Christmas Eve) and Friday (Christmas Day) of this week, a press release announced.  The city will also be closed next Friday (New Year’s Day).

Garbage pickup will run on Christmas Eve, but residents are encouraged to leave bins out Wednesday night so city crews can finish their routes early and go home. There will be no garbage pickup on Friday.

The city is also placing extra garbage bins throughout the community to help with trash overflow during the holidays. Bins will be set up from Dec. 23 through Dec. 30 at these locations:

  • LaGrange Fire Station, 1212 Hogansville Road
  • Hollis Hand Elementary School
  • Granger Park Track parking lot
  • Brenda Boulevard/Kings Park Lane
  • Colquitt Street/McGregor Street
  • Daniel Street/Dix Street
  • Wilkes Street/Unity School
  • The City of LaGrange police and fire departments will be open throughout the holidays. Troup County will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The county’s convenience centers will be closed on Friday but will reopen on Saturday. Post offices nationwide will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, and mail will not be delivered on those days.

The LaGrange Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday and Friday, but animal control will still be available.
