A county championship will be up for grabs on Wednesday when the Callaway, LaGrange and Troup wrestling teams get together.

The county championship, which will be held in LaGrange High’s new gymnasium, begins at 6 p.m., and each team will wrestle two matches.

At the same time, the middle-school wrestling teams from Gardner Newman, Long Cane, and Callaway will hold their own county championship.

LaGrange is looking to defend the county title it won last year in Troup’s gym.

After outlasting Callaway 41-40, LaGrange edged Troup 43-30 to secure the county title.

Before the action gets underway on Wednesday, the seniors for Callaway, LaGrange and Troup will be recognized.

OF NOTE: All spectators for the county championship are required to wear masks.
