Patricia Ann Hammock Fleckman, affectionately known as Patsy, passed away after a ten-year battle with Alzheimers.  Patsy was transported from home in Orlando, Florida to Hospice in Ocoee Thursday, Aug. 27, at 2:30 a.m. and passed away Friday, Aug. 28, at 3:30 p.m., having never opened her eyes or saying goodbye.

She was the daughter of the late Luther and Bernice Hammock of Hogansville and is survived by her husband, Ira Fleckman of Orlando; her son, Solomon and his wife Rachel and granddaughters, Penelope and Naomi, of Davidson, North Carolina; sister in-law, Ann Hammock of Beauregard, Alabama; nephews, Bill Hammock, Chris Hammock, Matthew Hammock; and nieces, Ginny Hammock Williams, Joy Hammock Drummond, Brandi Hammock, Kayla Hammock.

Patsy was a 1960 graduate of Hogansville High School, where she was a member of academic and service clubs, was a varsity letter winner in basketball and cheerleading, and was voted Most Popular in her class. She continued her education, graduating from Georgia Southern University and served as a mathematics and science teacher in public schools in Georgia and Florida and then as a social worker in Florida and Georgia. She ended her professional career, retiring from Meriwether County Department of Family and Childrens Services.

Patsy married fellow teacher, Ira Fleckman in 1968, was divorced in 1986, and remarried Ira in 2011. Their son, Solomon, is a teacher and coach.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home.  A private burial was in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11, Sunday.
