Mr. Robert Lee Marchman, a LaGrange native, passed away Friday in Boston, Massachusetts.
He was born Sept. 6, 1938 in Troup County, Georgia; the oldest child of the late Mr. Steve and Mrs. Erma Lee Green Marchman.
He united with the Louise United Methodist Church at an early age, he worked in the logging industry; and was employed by Jones Brothers for many years as a pulp-wooder. Robert was also an entrepreneur, and the owner of a Pine Straw Business.
Survivors include his children: Angelia (Herbie), Robert (Penny) Marchman, Jr., Anita Marshall, all of Boston, MA; Renee Leonard, Toby Leonard, and Zanthia (Marlon) Simpson, all of LaGrange, GA; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren; siblings: Bertha M. Broughton, Yvonne M. (James) Parker, LaGrange, Georgia; Rev. Timothy Marchman, Chicago, Illinois; and Annie B. Mitchell, Nashville, Tennessee; uncle, Oliver N. (Annie Lucille) Greene, LaGrange, Georgia; Olivia G. Ewing, Dayton, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Ora Lee; longtime companion, Johnnie Mae “Pink Red” Linson and her children; and an array of other relatives and friends.
The Service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Beasley Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Friday from 5-6 p.m. The excellent care of Mr. Marchman is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
