The Troup Tigers will look for a breakthrough victory when they visit the Kendrick Cherokees on Tuesday night.

With Friday’s 58-51 road loss to Columbus High, Troup fell to 0-3 in Region 2-AAAA, and it will try to reverse that trend with a win over Kendrick, which is also 0-3 in the region.

The story has been a different one for the Troup Lady Tigers, who are 3-0 in the region, and they’ve won the past two region games by at least 40 points.

Troup’s teams will be at home on Friday for a region doubleheader against Shaw.

LaGrange High’s boys’ and girls’ teams will also continue their region schedules this week.

The LaGrange Grangers, who beat Shaw 49-24 on Friday to improve to 2-1 in Region 2-AAAA, can reach the halfway point of its region schedule at 3-1 with a home win over Carver on Tuesday.

The Lady Grangers, who have lost two straight region games to fall to 1-2, will try to get back on track with a win on Tuesday.

LaGrange’s teams are off on Friday, and the boys’ team will host Camp Jewell on Saturday.

LaGrange and Troup will each play eight region games in the regular season leading into the region tournament.

Callaway’s teams will begin the second half of their Region 5-AA schedules this week, but first up they’ll host Lanett on Tuesday.

On Friday, Callaway continues its region schedule at Temple.

Callaway finishes its week with games at Lanett on Saturday.

The Cavaliers are in first place in the region with a 4-0 record, while the Lady Cavaliers are in second at 3-1.
