Cougars fall to Wildcats

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars enjoyed a winning road trip to Flint River Academy on Friday, but it was a different story on their home court.

Lafayette Christian won Friday’s game at Flint River Academy 52-44, but it lost the rematch 55-33 on Thursday at home.

It was the regular-season finale for Lafayette Christian, which will be the number five seed for the region tournament that begins on Monday at Flint River Academy.

In Thursday’s game, the Wildcats were clinging to a 21-20 lead at the half, and they dominated the second half to win going away.

Flint River outscored Lafayette Christian 16-4 in the third quarter to seize control, and it continued to pull away in the fourth quarter.

AJ Parks led the Wildcats with 14 points and Connor Gisler added 10 points.

In the game at Flint River, Adam Saylor led a balanced Lafayette Christian scoring attack with 15 points. Grant Gedney added 13 points, and Connor Gisler scored 12 points.
