LaGrange playing for region title

The championship showdowns will have to wait.
The LaGrange High and Columbus High soccer teams were supposed to play for region championships on Wednesday, but the games were postponed because of the threat of poor weather.
Instead, the teams will play on Thursday at Callaway Stadium, with the girls’ game starting at 5:30 p.m., and the boys’ game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
As of Wednesday morning, the games were still a go, but the postponement became necessary when the Muscogee County school system announced that travel outside of the county wouldn’t be allowed.
The LaGrange and Columbus teams are both unbeaten in the region, and the winners of today’s games will secure the region titles.
BASEBALL: LaGrange High’s game against Kendrick, which was supposed to be played on Tuesday, will instead be played next Wednesday at Granger Park at 5:30 p.m.
LaGrange will host Shaw on Friday in a regularly-scheduled game.
Callaway’s game at Temple scheduled for Tuesday was also postponed, and they will play on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Those same two teams will play a doubleheader a Callaway on Friday starting at 4:30 p.m.
Troup’s game with Christian Heritage scheduled for Tuesday was rained out as wll.
Troup returns to region competition with a game at Columbus High on Friday.
