A 12-year-old child was reportedly stabbed in the head by a 13-year-old he was horseplaying with on Turner Street Sunday.
According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, officers responded to 150 Turner Street at approximately 12:35 a.m. Officers made contact with the victim and several witnesses, who said the child was stabbed after a 13-year-old girl had gotten upset, picked up a kitchen knife and struck the 12-year-old in the back of the head.
The Criminal Investigations Section was notified and initiated an investigation, which resulted in the 13-year-old female being taken into custody for one count of aggravated assault. The 12-year-old victim was transported to West Georgia Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and subsequently released, per LPD.
