David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. (1 Samuel 30:6)

“And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; And had taken the women captives … So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. … And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”

“David encouraged himself in the Lord means he motivated, he influenced, he rouses, he persuades himself. David was like you on your stressed days, on days of uncertainly, in moments when the clock seems against you.

You have to inspire yourself in the Lord. That means David strengthed himself off of what his God, his Lord, his sovereign king Jehovah himself had spoken to him before the battle! He remembers What Ezekiel Daniel Joel Micah Jeremiah had already said. We Will Win!

Sometimes we are in a battle, in a fire, in a stress moment, and we forget what battles we have won.

I want to stir you! Incline you, inflame you, quicken you, to encourage you, provoke you, incite you to know and remember in times moments in this pandemic.

Rehearse your winning seasons, remember when you fought and won. Fire yourself up with enthusiasm and energize yourself in the Lord.

So, when life seems to be raining on your parade, inspire, motivate, excite, stir, exhilarate yourself!

Don’t wait for others to excite, motivate, stir you. It has to come from the inside of you! Today, in the midst of countless calamities and dark nights, remember what Our God said, “Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning.”
