Mass vaccination to begin Saturday at bus barn

In an effort to administer 1,500 shots of the Pfizer vaccine’s first dose, District 4 Public Health will host a COVID-19 vaccination event Saturday, March 27 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Troup County School System Bus Depot, located at 100 North Davis Road, LaGrange, GA 30241.

“We are very excited for the introduction of mass vaccination availability for the citizens of Troup County,” District 3 Commissioner and Board of Health member Lewis C. Davis, Jr. said in a press release. “I highly encourage eligible citizens to make an appointment to receive a vaccine.”

Adults aged 55 and over, healthcare workers, law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, caregivers, and educators are among those eligible to receive this vaccine, as are people with certain underlying conditions.

Attendees should come prepared with a valid form of ID and will be asked to fill out the “Vaccine Consent Form” upon arrival. This form can also be found on the District 4 Public Health Website, so attendees are welcome to complete and print this form prior to Saturday’s event.

District 4 Public Health has partnered with the Troup County Fire Department, Troup County EMA, the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, the City of LaGrange Fire Department, the City of LaGrange Police Department and the Troup County School System in order to manage this event as safely and efficiently as possible.
