VALLEY – Former LaGrange Granger Ja’Darius Young delivered an impressive defensive effort, but that wasn’t enough to help the Point University Skyhawks avoid a 28-14 home loss to Kentucky Christian University on Saturday.

Young, a junior linebacker, was second on the team with 10 tackles, and he had two tackles for loss and a pass breakup.

Another defensive standout was Chase Turner, who returned an interception 95 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to get Point within 14 points with 3:55 to play.

Offensively, the Skyhawks weren’t able to get much going.

The Skyhawks were limited to 250 yards of offense, and their lone offensive touchdown came on a 2-yard run by Tyrique Robinson.

Robinson finished with 62 yards on 18 attempts, and quarterback Brenton White completed 17-of-35 passes for 157 yards with three interceptions.

Point (1-5) will host Faulkner on Saturday at noon before finishing the regular season at St. Andrews University on April 10.
