Local Miss Georgia candidates are collecting donations for people impacted by last week’s tornadoes in Georgia.
The “Miss Georgia Gives Back” campaign is collecting items and financial contributions this week at John Fuller’s Farmer Insurance Agency located at 37 S. Lafayette Square in LaGrange. Hours for drop off on Thursday and Friday are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Miss Georgia queens will be at the location on Friday at 1 p.m. to assist with collections. The items will be delivered to those in need on Saturday.
“We greatly appreciate the partnership of John Fuller at Farmers Insurance Agency. The LaGrange candidates are working hard to give back to others during this challenging time,” said Trina Pruitt, executive director of the Miss Georgia Scholarship Competition, in a press release. “Our Giving Back campaign was concepted when we had to postpone the 2020 competition due to COVID-19. We wanted to pay forward for all the support the community has shown the Miss Georgia organization over its more than 75 years. This support has been a source of light to assist us with illuminating the ideals of our organization. In their giving, these supporters truly have embodied our four points of the Miss America crown … success, scholarship, service, and style.”
