They’ll try again on Thursday.
Callaway and Pepperell were supposed to begin their state-playoff baseball series on Monday, but it was pushed back to Tuesday because of rain.
On Tuesday morning, the decision was made to postpone the start of the series one more day because of poor field conditions at Pepperell.
They’ll play a doubleheader on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., and if needed, a third and deciding game would be Friday.
If Callaway beats Pepperell, it will be on the road against Thomasville in the third round of the playoffs next week.
If Callaway gets past Pepperell and Thomasville, it would reach the state semifinals for the third straight season.
