After over two years of sitting empty, the building that once housed the Hogansville Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar spaces will soon have a new occupant.

Georgia Wholesale, located in Newnan, is opening in the Highway 29 building in June, and will hold its ribbon cutting ceremony on July 1, said Cindi Harris Taylor, owner of Georgia Wholesale.

Georgia Wholesale sells a variety of items, including clothes, electrical appliances, and furniture for a fraction of the cost of other stores, Taylor said.

“We sell a little bit of everything,” Taylor said. “It’s like all the stores mixed into one.”

The former Piggly Wiggly space not only accommodates the store’s needs but also allows the business to evolve in the area.

“We thought it was a good space to move into since Hogansville is growing, and we will grow right along with it,” Taylor said.

At roughly 23,000 square feet, Taylor estimates, the space Georgia Wholesale will occupy is actually larger than the 16,000 square foot one she currently occupies in Newnan, she said, which will allow her to add more products such as plants and food.

On occasion, Taylor will get in unique or singular items. Recently, she acquired a casket that she sold to a family for far below the retail price, she said.

The Hogansville Piggly Wiggly closed in 2018.
