Market on Main, LaGrange’s longest-running local grower’s market, is preparing for opening day on June 5.
The market, managed by the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority, is looking for local growers interested in selling their vegetables, fruits, eggs, plants and flowers each Saturday in the summer season.
Interested vendors must be willing to commit to being present each Saturday throughout the duration of the market, said Barbie Watts, director of marketing & promotions with the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority.
The last day of the market will be Saturday, August 28.
Last year, the market expanded to include offerings from local artisans interested in selling handmade items such as pottery, wooden bowls and cutting boards, soaps, scrubs, candles, birdfeeders and jewelry along with jellies, jams and baked goods. Artisans are welcomed back this year as well, Watts said.
Vendors are encouraged to follow sanitary hygiene practices at all times. Physical distancing and hand sanitation practices are expected and no food sampling is permitted.
Wearing face masks or gloves is encouraged but are not required this year, Watts said.
“Since the market is located outdoors, I don’t think social distancing requirements will apply as they [were] for last year’s market,” Watts said.
This curbside market is located along the 100 block of Main and within Flagpole Park.
Market hours are from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. each Saturday.
The market operates rain or shine throughout the summer, except during lightning storms.

New vendor orientation is scheduled for 5/25 at 11:30 a.m. at Flagpole Park.
